Scotia Glenville Dental Center is here to take care of you!
- Are you an anxious and/or fearful patient? A dental phobic?
- Do you want little to no memory of the appointment?
- Do you want to get most of your dentistry done in fewer visits?
- Do you have a sever gag reflex, chronic or acute jaw soreness or physical limitations such as back or neck problems?
- Do you have difficulty getting numb or simply want a more relaxing experience?
You can get the smile you’ve always wanted in the most comfortable way possible. We can perform more dentistry in a single visit, and increase the fulfillment of complete treatment plans while you experience little-to-no post-operative discomfort.
The use of sedation and anesthesia by appropriately trained dentists in the dental office continues to have a remarkable record of safety. To help establish a more serene experience we also use nitrous oxide (laughing gas).
The technique is easy and requires no needles. Best of all, the medications create such a comfortable experience that most patients do not remember the visit; it is as if they slept through the treatment. In reality, oral sedation dentistry maintains a level of consciousness in the patient for safety and cooperation.
To create this relaxing and anxiety-free experience, you will be medication to take the day of your appointment. You will be in a state of relaxation, as your doctor provides you with your dental treatment. You’ll be monitored throughout your visit.
Regardless of the type of sedation dentistry you receive, it is important to have a responsible caregiver accompany you to the procedure (and drive you there if you must take oral medication before arriving for your appointment). The caregiver should drive you home after the procedure is complete and stay with you for an additional two to four hours at home.
For more information about sedation dentistry, ask your doctor at your first visit.
